Stuart and Karen Cooper
Vacation Rental Hosts
Stuart and Karen Cooper fell in love with Mexico 16 years ago when they pulled into a small harbour just north of Ensenada on their sailboat. The intention was to sail from Hawaii to England but plans changed they decided to spend some time discovering the Sea of Cortez before leaving. Scroll forward and Mexico has become their winter home. Having spent several years exploring the Sea of Cortez and northern Mexico, they sailed south and ended up in Zihuatanejo. Within hours of arriving both sailors and their boat Fantasia were signed up to take part in the annual SAILFEST fundraising event. Sailfest events have raised money to benefit thousands of children who have received an education thanks to this charity. Four weeks later our motley crew were again volunteers, this time as photographers for the ZIHUATANEJO INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL – GUITARFEST. Every year the beautiful Zihuatanejo lured them back with Fantasia clocking up the nautical miles up and down the coast. Finally, in 2021 they found and purchased Casa Linda and have spent the last 12 months converting this gracious house into 3 self contained apartments as well as an owners suite on the top floor.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Stuart and Karen split their time between Brittany in France and Zihuatanejo. After more than 20 years running a Yacht Charter company and RYA Sailing School in England, they are well used to providing the best possible experience for guests. “We love it when we can help visitors discover the secrets that make this wonderful seaside town so special”.
Apart from being a professional yacht captain, Stuart plays guitar and enjoys woodworking amongst many other useful skills whilst Karen is a keen photographer, gardener and manages the website. Stuart also turns his hand to photography when he is not busy strumming, making or fixing!
